June: Animals & Wildlife

The Brief:

The Animal & Wildlife competition is open and accepting any great images of animals, including birds, animals in their natural environment and pet portraits.

We’ve got lots of inspiration for you this month, including one of Digital Splash 17’s Pro Speakers Elke Vogelsang, a Fujifilm X photographer who’s best known for her creative dog portraits. Her pet portraits are packed full of character! Find out more at elkevogelsang.com

For the wildlife fans, a little while back we interviewed Tesni Ward, which you can read on the Wilkinson Cameras Blog. We asked Tesni why she had such a passion for wildlife photography? She replied, “Wildlife is so unexpected in so many ways. I love everything about nature, but when you photograph wildlife the personality of individual animals begins to shine through, the more time you spend with them. I love nothing more than trying to capture these small quirks and behaviours that make each animal as unique as you or I.” We think this is a great pro tip for capturing great wildlife photos!

Check out the Wilkinson Cameras Blog where very soon there will also be a new guest blog from Camera Jabber with tips for capturing great animal and wildlife photos!

Please remember that next month’s competition theme is Macro, so it may be better to enter any close up pictures of insects and similar into the July Macro photo competition rather than the Animal & Wildlife theme.
